I love the E39 body 5 car and I do a bunch of them, between retail and my dealer who sells alot of bimmers. I probably do 20 or so BMWs a month. I think there are 4 E39's that will be in this thread.

First up, Silver 2000 528 5speed

A great addition, staggered fit, overkill for a 528, but they look good. I wish I had these to put on the 540 6sp later in the thread

Next is a 2002 530 Slate Grey, car was in really good shape except for some rash on the passenger door, which I could not do much about. I tried a few things to lighten it up, but it was really deep. That spot was wetsanded, wooled and polised out. The rest of the car was just lightly polished.

I love 540 6sp's, but this one was a mess. 1999 Sport package blk/blk everything that an E39 should be, except for shotty paint work, orange peel, wet sand marks, swirls and trashed interior...its perfect.

jeez, swapping the rims on the first car makes it look like a new car again! The old rims dated it quite a bit.

very nice work. Does somebody around there collect rabbits?

GREAT JOB on those Bimmers! You get interiors in far worse shape than I do (thanks for that).

Couple of suggestions:

1. Get a tripod for that camera! Too many blurry shots in the shop.

2. Set the camera for auto shutter delay. That way your finger doesn't cause the camera to shake.

Then your inside the shop pics will look great!

Don't you dare send any of those interiors to Kansas! LOL

I have been meaning to buy a tripod, I will look at my owners manual to see where to find the shutter speed, I have had the new camera for about a month or so, still cant navigate very well with it.

Clay,

Wow--great work! How do you get those lines in the carpet? Just vacuuming in opposite directions? Those are cool!

Joey

My guess is he just vacuums with no attachment on the end of the hose for the final... dunno though.

Clay: the camera has a setting for a 10 second auto shoot somewhere (where you could even get your mug in the pic LOL)....don't know what they call it, but it's somewhere in the menu. It really helps because your finger creates vibrations when you shoot indoors at low light. Auto Shooting eliminates that.

I went to the local Wal-Mart for a tripod...not too expensive and they work great.

Later my friend.

Impressive work! The last 540i Sport was in horrible shape, I hope the mechanicals were in much better form! Absolutely incredible job on that one! It's resale just increased 10 grand! I love those E39's too, and if not an M5, then I'd have one exactly like the last, 540i Sport, 6 spd, black/black. Great engine bay work on all too!
