I want to get rid of "orange peel"

How costly? On the order of hundreds? Thousands?
 
^^ lol thats why paint jobs cost money. Not because materials are expensive, but because its a TON of labor removing moldings, taping car and then wet sanding.. To re-clear a car, depending on size I would charge on average 8-2500 depending if they wanted the vehicle to have a show finish..



Show finish = wet sand last coat of sprayed clear, then re clear, and wet sand again :)

Good advice! Don't want to be learning to wet sand clear without some experience. Unless of course you want to pay for another spraying,and if the person does not know what they are doing . You can have it again. A New Orange!
 
I always go to the Showroom when I get my EXT serviced at the Dealership. Most New cars have orange peel. The Cadillac and Mercedes Dealerships are connected here. The Benz paint looks better than the Cadillac,but some of both have orange peel.
 
$2500 is very low, or a hell of a bargain, to reclear almost any car; even with a

mid range/price clear. And that also depends on how it's done.



This was my old car. Four coats of a high solids (52%) polyurethane clear.

The color is Dupont G9900S Super Jet Black. Around 150 hours; 25 hours

on the cut/polish alone. And maybe 2 hours of actual spray time. This is still

a "quick" paint job for a 2 door...

My material cost isn't much; around $600 bucks. Retail for this job would be around 5g's.

Again, around 2 hours of actual spray time or "paint time." So, i'll paint

your car for FREE (just pay for everything else). :)
