I re-discovered Mother's Showtime last night

I had a bottle of Mother's QD in my cabinet. Yesterday I decided to give it another try with all of the positive reports about Mother's products.

I am not sure why I relegated Showtime to the "tried but did not like cabinet" but it was an obvious mistake. This stuff applies indoors easily and wipes streak-free with excellent results. My only conclusion is that I stopped using it when I went through my Zaino period and that prior to learning the finer points of detailing here at Autopia ( extreme prepping), Showtimes positives attributes were not noticed. Also previous trials were not done using MF's which I am sure aided in the ease of QD'ing.

Just thought I would pass on my rediscovery of a very good locally available QD.



Does anyone ( Forrest) know if the product contains any carnuaba or polymer waxes. Not a problem since I am not using any restrictive protectants. Also my bottle was about 2 years old. Has there been any re-formulations since than? :wavey
 
Nope - no carnauba or polymer waxes in it. The price point may be low, but it is a good product.



BTW, most folks overuse it - just a light mist is all that's needed. Too much product on the paint will load your towel up, and that's when you'll see the dreaded streaks. That's true of all detailers.



I'm in Nashville this weekend with our TV crew shooting car care tips at a show. Maybe I should add this one to the list.

That was one of the techniques that I learned here at Autopia. Mist is better. MF's are great. :bow



To me the price ( hi or low) is not important if the product works. Actually I do not remember how much I paid for it. :nixweiss

Next Mother's product I will try, probably today, will be the Chip Repair Kit.:cool:
 
I always liked Mothers Showtime detailer. I found that it goes on easy, hardly streaks and is very inexpensive. I am currently using the big bottle I got with the clay kit on my boat and jetski. I love it :up
 
Stanger 99, you can get it by the Gallon. Just call Mothers. Most of their products come in larger bottles. I use the whole line of Mothers products. I found out about the larger bottles when I was going through their wheel cleaner bottles very quickly. I called them up and they informed me I could get larger bottles. Mothers products are excellent and is all I use on my car. Give them a call.

I have never tried Mother's Showtime! Imagine that, there are still more products to try. :D The next time I am at pep boys, I might just have to get a bottle.

yup showtime is one of my favorites for sure... just wish I could get it in a galon container like they sell meguiar's #34.... (forrest, by chance know of such a product/size existing?)

I've always liked Showtime. A while ago I posted how it was slicker than the EO QD I also had. I'm more indifferent these days, but that's probably because I haven't been able to QD as much. :p



One funny thing I've noticed about a lot of Mothers products (besides their clay) is that they almost always turn out to be good and well liked, but they never get as much recognition and exposure on a regular basis. Overall, they probably make the best OTC line of stuff. Fame comes in short-lived bursts where once in a while people excitedly discuss these products and then it goes "dormant" again.... Weird. :nixweiss

Gimp - I just give 'em the ideas, and line up the props to use. You can always see my mug on America's Most Wanted, but I prefer to let Mr. Chemist do the ham on the shows - I'm more of a seafood kinda guy.
 
I agree, Showtime is awesome.



It gives one of the slickest surfaces I've ever seen from a quick detailer. I actually think it makes the paint slicker than a fresh cost of wax!
