Hi guys. I ordered 1000 business cards with a stock image, a couple colors for the text and front and back printing for $85 including shipping.

You can choose from a bunch of cool car themes. You can also choose from a bunch of great fonts, styles, sizes and a handful of other customizable options. You build it all online and it updates in front of you! Once you're happy at the end, you buy them!

The service was immediate and the customer rep. Chris was very cool. They are expanding the site next month. I noticed a mistake and it was rectified immediately.

The site is http://www.business-card-templates.com/

Very cool! I might have to order some from them. I've been using www.vistaprint.com for the last 3 or 4 years just because I usually run out within a year and I like buying small numbers of cards so I can change the design every now and then. I think I'm ready to settle down for a really good card.

Dont forget staples, We just got a Bunch (6-7000) cards from them for work. They were like $35 per 1000 :)

I may post a pic of my new one....

Edit (1000)

Why order business cards you can print them on your computer, I did. Here is a sample....

just my 02$.. When I see a card that was printed on a computer it just looks cheap.. If someone gets ahold of one of my cards the last thing I want it someone to think that I am at the lower end of the Biz...

So, yes people can tell when they are printed "at home"

Here is the business card I promised to show!

I beg to differ with you sir, my card looks as professional as any I have paid to have printed. I am also a professional photographer and have had cards printed by printing companies for years. There printing look no better than what I have done.

If you would like, I will mail you a sample of my card for your inspection. Just let me know.

Here is the example of the front. I won't show the back. I do not mean to Spam, I just want to show the quality of it. Also, I have attached some FAQ's

What type of printing process is used?

Our business cards are printed and cut by multi-million dollar presses using the "four color" or "CMYK" printing process with full bleed.

What is full bleed?

All business cards printed in full bleed. Full bleed ensures that ink covers the entire area of the final product. In this process the image is printed larger than normal. After printing is complete, the excess area is trimmed away.

What types of paper are used?

All business cards are printed on the highest quality 12pt card stock paper available.

What type of coating is used?

We add a FREE UV gloss coating to the front side of every business card we print. This coating adds a luxurious glossy look

Wow. That is pretty nice looking. I like that. The ones I got from vistaprint were good quality cards, but they weren't glossy like that. The only picture I have is one I used a couple years ago. I really liked this design because it went well with my tagline at the time.

I blacked out the phone number and prices to protect the innocent. The number doesn't go to me anymore and I'm embarassed at what I used to advertise on my business cards for. Just some advice from some hard learned lessons... Don't ever advertise your prices on your business card. You will get screwed. lol Now I just say "Details starting at $xx" and I say to call for an estimate instead of an appointment. It works out much better for me.

As far as making them yourself goes, sure you can do that. Anyone can get an Avery's packet of business card templates and hammer out some cards on the computer. But why risk your first impression with perspective clients with cards they percieve to be less than professional quality? If they see that you are trying to save the $20 or $30 bucks it costs to have a local printer make your cards then they might make assumptions on what other costs you've tried to cut.

When comparing even the freebie I got from vistaprint to one that bigguy posted you can tell which one came from a printer. I'm sure that its possible to replicate something like the vistaprint one on your home computer, but the cost in material and ink would proabably be right at the same place as if you paid to have them done. I'm sure I could print 1000 high gloss color photo business cards on my printer, but its going to burn up a $40 ink cartridge and $100 in glossy label paper. I would rather just take my order to one of those other sites mentioned and pay the $80 bucks and have it done for me. Much cheaper that way. Plus you don't have to worry about the ink running off the card if it gets wet that way. Add lamination to the cost of printing your own and the price goes up even higher. I may be able to replicate the same quality, but they do such quantity that I can't compete with them in how much it costs. It would only be cost effective if I wanted to only print 200 cards or something.

On the back I used the same font and bulleted a few points about the products used, friendly service, references available, call or e-mail for brochure and consultation, etc...

I like those Folding Business Card they are selling. So Spilchy are you happly with quality of the business cards you got, I think I might order some business card from them I not sure yet.

Mine.

Got it from www.vistaprint.com Great place, great deal. The slight blurriness is from the "Print Screen" button being used. Vista Print wouldn't let you save your card :( I'm very happy with the card though.

I had this done about two years ago at Office Depot. I am glad I am almost out since I need to update them with my new e-mail and website addresses (the old links automatically forward you though).

Not to mention that it costs $$ to print at home as well. The stinking catridges for my printer are $65-$70 (35 color and 30 b+w), I can certianly see easily burning up a set printing a couple hundred cards.

Spilchy...your new card is on the front page of the site. Nice work.

WOW! You know I e-mailed him (the card vendor) mentioning, that I posted here and that a few of you seemed interested and apparantly he put mine and somebody else on the home page!

The guy is very nice and I am waiting for the cards to come, so I will let you know how they come out, but I have faith in this company.

Pretty cool!

...about business cards

Your business card should contain your business name, location, phone number, email address, and your name.

It should also identify what makes your business special and unique.

It makes sense to keep the cost of business cards to a minimum and only order about one or two thousand at a time.

Always carry a few business cards with you at all times. You never know when you’re going to meet someone that is interested in your detailing service.

Just some additional thoughts...

I just received an extra 20% off my next order since a few of you ordered cards! The guy sent me an e-mail and he attributed it to me discussing his business on Autopia!

They also do all sorts of brochures, postcards, etc... on their sister site www.customizedprinting.com
