i obviously don't have it

I don't think you can use alcohol to remove alcohol. :) RainX is best just to wear off. If you put something else over it then I don't think it will hurt.

Since I used AIO on my previously Rain-Xed windshild I think it got replaced/cleaned (showing similar durability with not as much haze)

The second I wrote that I knew it was begging that question. I was questioning AIO's reaction when used over a recent coat of rain-x. Does it reduce the has or take it out or does it stay? On my car no it has no haze, but then again I haven't had rain-x on it for 3 months now. (is that even an answer?)

I use Klasse AIO on my windows, and have had no fog-up since I have began using it a little over a month ago.

<strong class='bbc'>Ron or anyone on the forum,

Do you know how one can remove previous coatings of Rain-X?

I applied a coating of Rain-X over CLEAN glass about one month ago. I want to switch to Aquapel, but wanted to remove all Rain-X before I apply the new product.

If alcohol will do the trick let me know, I doubt it, as that means most auto glass cleaners would remove the coating.

I have a Porter Cable DA, would a clear coat polish remove the Rain-X? The more info the better on this subject, glass is always so tricky to clean, and to KEEP clean!

We are just about to finalize the agreement and as soon as it is will attempt to bring some clarity to the concern.

The PPG product, however, is much different than Rain-X.

The product comes in an air proof container, each container is enough for one windshield.

It last 3 to 4 months per application. The new applicator is much more user friendly than the orginal.

Bout all I can devulge at the present.

doesn't rain-x damage your wipers over time? i heard that it can eat away the rubber, which is why i've always avoided it. maybe this is not true?

I use a product called "Ultra Rain Shield". It works really well and has a built in applicator pad. I however don't use it on my front windshield. Every other glass surface gets treated with this stuff and it seems to work as well as Rain-X does. I used to use Rain-X on my windshield but noticed that the wipers left tracks on it and that was very disruptive to me. Since I live in the Pacific Northwest and we have very wet weather most of the time, I think it's very good to protect the glass on a car.

For the front windshield I use a QD and it seems to last between washes and does a good job in letting the water bead and run off at lower speeds around town. As for driving on the freeway, the QD treatment on the front windshield is more then adaquate for me.

19 months on factory wipers (17 rain-x,2 months of using AIO, Ohio has all 4 seasons). Towards the last time I've used rain-x the wipers started to smear. Last night when it rained (AIO on windshield) didn't notice any smearing.

because i keep going through all the work of compounding and polishing my paint. yet when i'm done there's still scratches and its not buffer swirls or rids. its the damn microfibers. so whats the best mf towels you've used...

Your vehicle must have some pretty soft paint if you're being careful and your microfibre scratches that bad. Then again there are some bad,bad microfibres out there.
