I need help

:beat I run a detail business here in florida. I have three major dealerships that I do used cars for. With the reputation I have built I am able to get a decent price for details. My problem is finding good help! I pay very well and I have plenty of work but I just want people I can trust. If somebody out there can guide me on how to find some people with some experience and looking for good opportunity I would appreciate it very much.

Check out your competiton, find out who they have and is the best, and steal the better help away with cash insentives. Business is Business.

Good luck,

You devil you :D.

(He has a point: Sun Tzu - The Art of War (applies to business in oh so many ways). But I'd always like to think there was some code of honor amoungst all detailers... right? :D Just... what would that code of honor be though...? Thou shalt not steal thy brothers hose?

in all honesty, to optimize business, a code of honor when it comes to getting good help is sort of out of the question. only way around it is if they are a DC member.

I've worked for mant compaines that have built themselves this way. Is it the honorable way to do things not really but as stated business is business. You can bet that others will do the same to you given the chance!

Excellent point... just as easily as you can heist someone's employees, someone else can do it to you!

If only DC had a job board. On the other hand that would mean another DC overhaul. Just forget I said that.

Yea, if I lived closer I would work for you. Lol. Port ST. Lucie is a little far for me though.

Find people with good work ethic and train them. Place an ad in the paper like this-

"Automotive service tech trainee, reliable and hard working only need apply, excellent pay, benefits and training, room for advancement"

Then when you hire them give them an employees manual that lays out exactly what their duties are and what will not be tolarated.
