I need everyones opinion on my new referral service.

I actually got this idea from a friend of mine that tint windows. It seems to work for him.

I want to incorporate a referral system that for every 5 referrals by a customer, i will offer a service for free. For example, if someone came in for a quick wash and referred me 5 customers that needed 5 quick washes, then i would go back to that person and do a quick wash for free. Of course, i offer several packages from a quick wash to a full blown paint correction. Having said that, the free service would have to correspond to the referrals given to me. They will not get paint correction for 5 quick washes!

If i remember correctly, my friend told me that out of the 10 years that he has been doing this marketing, he could literally count the number of guys who have completed 5 referrals off his 10 fingers...

I think this is a great way to get your name out and network your business out to a large group of people. One guy could lead to 5 other guy, and those 5 can lead to 25 other guys, and so on and so forth.

What do you guys think?

I think it sounds better then it actually works. Most people don't want to make their friends and family think that they are being sold something.

I've tried it and had similar results as your friend, not good.

Your idea sounds like a novel idea, but in reality the type of customers you really should be looking for don't care about yours or my free services

In 30 years I can count on 1 hand how many customers have let me work for free. I should also ad, I'm missing 3 fingers
