It has to be me. I must be doing something wrong. About 2 weeks ago I detailed a Corvette, and it came out pretty good. Its on its 3rd or 4th paint job, so there were alot of imperfections in the paint itself, but I got the clear coat nearly swirl free. I know this because I pulled it out into direct sunlight and checked my work over. It looked 90% good considering the condition of the paint.
Car is driven for a week.... through rain, on the highway,... somehow gets oil all over it.
I went out and purchased those Proline Grout Sponges for Lowes. I am using the 2 bucket method of washing. Somehow.... all the swirls are back, and they are back bad. The car looks good out of the sun.. but in direct sunlight there are swirls everywhere.... ***!!!
It must be me, no luck with the megs wool wash mits, and even less luck with the grout sponges. I need help. Its all well and good that I do great correction work, but if I can only get a week out of it because i don't know how to properly wash a car than what good is it!
