The Grand Marquis Man
Let me tell you why. I've had my car for 14 months. I've detailed my car just once since I've had it. I've QD'ed in-between. I really haven't had to do much else to keep the car clean.
Last week it snowed, and I had to drive in its aftermath. You know the scene: the roads have been plowed to the pavement, but there is slush and slop in places. The cars in front of you spray fine roostertails of wet glop all over your car. Your car ends up a pasty white from the road salt.
My wife begged me to wash the car. I refused, knowing that it would just get dirty again the next day. So I went a week without washing. Just as she was nibbling her fingernails down to the bone, it rained yesterday.
(Here comes the good part.)
After driving in the rain, all of the salt and slop was gone from my paint. Yes, there is a fine residue left that I will have to take care of by doing a complete wash, but I was amazed that the paint came out looking almost like new!
So far, I haven't had to so much as to clay my car or anything. And I've got lots of clay. It is just sitting in the cabinet, waiting for its turn.
This kind of protection would have never happened on my older cars, which were washed and "waxed" the old-fashioned way. The salt, slop, and such would have just caked on, layer after layer.
The products I use (Poorboys' and Four-Star) are truly technological marvels. I owe my success to DC for having read all of the threads on how to detail a car. I feel as though I could keep this car showroom new forever. Best of all, it's not that hard to do!
So, Thanks to all of You for your posts. :yourrock They have been an inspiration to me.
