Makita USA - Tool Details - 9227CY

I've been using an oooooooold Craftsman Buffmaster forever... It's made me money, so I won't complain about it too much. But it's been somewhat unreliable for a while and after working on a friends black Civic yesterday, I finally got fed up with it and decided I needed to treat myself. After talking with my local supplier, he convinced me to go with the Makita, and I've been leaning toward it or the Hitachi for some time now. Only thing that sucks is that my local supplier can't get Makita, but I was still able to buy it here in town through a local tool store. It's going to be in later this afternoon, and total after tax was like $225. I'm stoked I'll finally have a good machine. I already realize the difference will be night and day, and I'll be kicking myself for not buying this machine sooner

Pics will come later today when I pick it up

Congrats. I know how you feel, i've been doing everything by hand and after my last detail I finally gave in and said, " I need a polisher!"

Great machine thats what we have the only bad thing is parts are incredibly expensive we broke the main gear and with shipping it was almost as much as a new one would be

I picked up the dewalt a few years ago, I only used it a hand full of times. I think I would be more comfy with the makita handle though. I love makita tools, but I tried to save on this one, I think the savings was about 50 bucks.

the last few times i used it for paint correction I was at 1200, I am scared to go faster. :yikes: LOL

Thanks guys :D

Have yet to try it on something, but it definitely feels smoother than my old machine. The speed control is really precise too :bigups

Anyway, a quick pic. Already got the Edge adapter on :D

I've got the Edge system and love it, get some wool pads as well as foam, I've got both and the wool is a real cutter!
