I joined Anthony and bought a Steam Cleaner - YAHOO

Hey Jimmy! I'm expecting this to arrive any day now:

It's a professional machine at a great price. They also have the best warranty I've found. $700 off, plus $100 immediate factory rebate, plus bonus for me: $35 to ship to Canada (would normally be around $100 I think.) All in all I saved like $900 :woohoo: The distributor is also the manufacturer. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

P.S. There is a continuous fill model for I think $100 more. It would probably be worth looking at since you're running a shop!

I have that exact one. It works really well, but take the time to play with it and read the instructions before you have to use it on a customers vehicle. IE: it tends to take a bit of time.

Do you ever use it on cars?

GSRstilez:

Does the Daimer unit take time to heat up or does learning how it operates have a curve? What PSI do you find yourself most commonly cleaning interiors with? Also, how long have you been using this unit. . . overall opinion. . . of a $640 machine? TIA.

i came across this thread not knowing anything about steam cleaners and not wanting one, and now i just ordered one, costed $59.96 with shipping. I hope it works as good as you say.

Hey glad to hear it works well. I expect any professional quality machine to take some practice to get the best results! That's the point right? No disrespect intended to others, but if I'm charging someone for a service, I want to use products and techniques that aren't generally available at the "consumer level". That's what makes one a professional, no? I'll drop you a line if I need any advice!

pssstue: Learning curve, yes. Take the time to use it on your own vehicle/home before spending the time on a customer's vehicle. I forget which PSI, but its not maximum. It's truly amazing what real hot steam will do to dirt. It brought the leather to absolute showroom in my mom's 2001 PT Cruiser. Both look and feel!

My dad purchased it for home use, but I have free reign of it whenever. Honestly, I still haven't gotten it down (only used 2-3 times), so I haven't taken it on details with me.

that thing looks like a complete joke. if anyone is interested in a true steam cleaner I am selling my Landa H.D. 1100 steam cleaner, 190° 1100 PSI. included with the steam cleaner is an extra hose(2 hoses total), 3 guns, chemical feed wand, and 6 extra tips. it was recently serviced by the Landa dealer and has a new fuel pump. i'm asking $1195.

$1195 is quite a bit more than $45-of course they aren't in the same leaque

Seriously. What was the point of that post? Who the heck wants to lug that thing around anyway let alone spend $1200! I can't think of a better way to waste all that money than to buy a used piece of equipment like that. You can achieve superior results with a steam cleaner that is a fraction of that cost (look at Anthony Orosco and his one from Top of the Line) and Jimmy Buffitt seems to do quite well with the Piccolos he bought for his shop.

I bought the Piccolo and it is more than perfect for us hobbyists to tackle the inside of the car on the weekend or small jobs around the house. Well made in Italy, a fraction of the $200 retail and at 50psi, powerful enough to get the job done.

That was a for sale post if I knew one. I know I don't have many posts here but he has 4 posts and is advertising his used machine. Anyway I rec'd my unit on Monday and I am happy. Cleaned the stubborn white bathroom grout and did a good job on some stubborn tar. For $57 taxes and shipped I am more than happy and considered I was at Target Tuesday night and saw the same one for 199.99 that puts a huge smile on my face.

1100 PSI? That doesn't even sound safe to be using for interiors. MAYBE it would be OK for engines, but even at that I gotta say, I think I smell burnt spam from someone who may not even realize what this forum is about/aimed toward.

The Landa machine is a very high quality heated pressure washer.

Not a steamer. Oh, it cleans, very well, but it is meant for large industrial projects. The local Marriott has one for cleaning their sidewalks... gets chewing gum so effectively that you can smell the flavor!

A completely different league.

Ahh.... gotcha. Yeah you definitely couldn't use that for too much on a car.... at least an interior. It would probably be great for wheels, undercarriages, and engines though.

I got my Piccolo today. I hope to try it out within the next few days on some bathroom grime. :)

Couldn't resist could ya. I may give Costco another try at processing my order.
