I hate that I like a TW product (ICE liquid clay)....

I just pick up the kit today to hit my new truck with. It was on sale at auto zone for 13.99 which was just a dollar more than the clay magic clay bar kit. Will be interesting if it is really that much of any use on a vehicle that is only a few months old.

Bumping this thread to get some more opinion on the product since I saw this on sale again at Autozone the other day which include the 100gr clay bar.

the most it will be is $.99 (on the white price tag on the shelf) and that's if they decide not to sell it to you for the penny it scans at. for a buck, it's worth it just for the clay alone...

I read a review on some Mustang forums about how good the product is. Apparently, the product claims to be a clay, but yet using regular clay after liquid clay application reveals that contaminants still remain on the vehicle finish.

Perhaps this product isn't really a clay product in the traditional sense, albeit containing large amount of clay material. It is perhaps, a mild gel polisher.

meh, the liquid in the kit sucks (both the lube and "liquid clay")

I just bought the only 3 i could find (went to 4 different ones) and just kept the clay.

Their extreme cleaner wax from back in the day (has Trilicone whatever that is) is the best hand wax Ive ever used for removing small scratches. It just wipes them off.

Also that platinum line they discontinued was good. The wheel cleaner was the only stuff I ever used by any company that would literally spray the dirt right off.

I've been using it to deep clean the bumpers, rocker panels and lower panels when prepping. Does a good job on tar spots. Saves my claybars from premature death.

Only used it on a whole car 2-3 times that were really dirty with mold/mildew spots on the horizontal surfaces. Took it right off

Yep, exactly. If you buy this stuff thinking its going to be a clay replacement you will be disappointed. However if you are looking for a wash product that will really do the work of a light cleaner/polish, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I bought the one we had at the nearest autozone. I asked the guy if they had any more...he looked and said that was the only one. I mentioned that it was only $.99 (per the sign) and he was like "it is?" he looked at the comp and said you're wrong! It's a penny! I felt like I had to buy something else, so I picked up some cd2 as well. Look forward to trying the liquid clay, maybe it help my clay bars last a bit longer.

at the AZ i went to, the older gentlemen was very cool about it and just gave me two kits without having to pay for them. i also felt like i had to buy something, so i asked him what kind of soda he drank, and bought him a diet coke near the register. he quotes, 'you are a gentleman and a scholar' and i said, 'no problem and thank you very much'...

it's nice to see chain stores with employees like that, it's not too common these days. i've always left my local autozone impressed with the employees.

Target has the kits with the liquid clay,100g clay bar and QD for $8...i picked up 2 kits...gonna try it with my PC and rotary and report back...my wifes 2010 mazdaspeed 3 will need a good detailing after we come back from our trip in DC and i may use this as my first step to see what the hype is about (or lack their of)

If you want to hate liking another Turtle Wax product try their Ice liquid polish - I know - that's not the right name, but look for the Ice with the clear liquid sealer. I don't use it on paint but when I come across rusty or pitted chrome, I soak a piece of 0000 steel wool with it and lightly rub off the rust. I think this is better than using acid because the acid gets into the pits, under the chrome surface and starts a dis-similar metal/battery reaction which, in the long run makes for a worse situation. Taking the rust off with the liquid polish does two things - it makes the steel wool less likely to scratch the surface by providing lubrication and second, it fills the defects with polymer and helps block oxygen so it slows down rather than speeds up degradation. Oh yeah, it leaves the chrome feeling really slick, and it won't turn the rubber white, in fact it sort of treats the rubber moldings, so I guess that's four things not two. I didn't like it much on the paint, but on chrome, I think it's very good.
