I hate hand washing MF towels. What do you guys handle this?

wash with dawn in machine run the wash cycle again this time plain water ...

And maybe do more additional rinses as required. Keep at that until you don't see any more suds.

..I wasn't the one that said Dawn worked well in HE washers...I don't have the rinse problem you had. In fact besides the excellent cleaning ability the thing I liked about Dawn was how well it rinsed out...

Eh, sheesh, I'm getting old :o Sorry for the misunderstanding. Hmmm, wonder who posted that about it being OK in HE washers :nixweiss

I had to do more extra rinses in the toploader too. A few more than with regular detergents, which is a lot more than with "MF detergents".

But in the HE frontloader it was really something....pretty much what I had expected due to the whole "foaming" issue, but not IMO bad enough to cause any real *problems* or anything.

What did get my attention was how those WWs seemed to work better.

1cup simple green, maybe 2cups simple green if they are really bad. Regular All Free Laundry Detergant

Let soak for an hour

Wash in hot water and they come out as new as ever

This must be a YMMV type thing. Thinking it'd be an OK way to use up my Simple Green, I mixed up plenty of Simple Green with some detergent in a bucket and tossed in my excess-tire dressing-MFs. Let 'em soak for a few days, then washed in the washer. Didn't work worth [crap] and I finally used the Dawn approach to get 'em clean.

Heh heh, I think I must've tried nearly every approach to washing MFs there is! And I'll be the first to say that what works for one person might not work the same way for somebody else...doesn't mean that various things aren't worth trying, so please don't take my experience as some :nono
