I was told to go to town on the Phantom I detail. It has been his daily driver since he gave his Escalade to his kid. He put about 15,000 miles on it this year. Not too bad though, just some minor defects. I tried out the Menzerna 106FF using a Meguiars polishing pad. I used too much product initially and had some dusting problems. Scuffing the pad and tapping it every few panels seemed to really cut down on the dusting though. Finished it off with OCW and then another layer the next day when I went back to do more cars.

The owner of the Rolls bought this truck, I guess so he has something else to drive. I swear, I was not consulted on the color combination. Anyway, brand new, paint looked really good so I just applied Poorboy's Natty's Blue by hand.
2003 Chevy Silverado. Weekly wash customer, waxed with Collinite 845 a few months ago. He gave me an extra nice Christmas tip this year, so I put on a layer of Jeff Werkstatt's Carnauba Jett. I also figured out the best way to use it. Spray, wipe into the paint and keep wiping until it nearly clears out, then flip the towel and wipe again. Works like a charm. Makes the paint look really, really black.
One caution though, CJ does not work well when applied in the direct sun.

2004 Hummer H2. Another weekly wash customer, another big Christmas tipper. Same deal as the Silverado, I had applied 845 a while back (early September, I think). I decided to see how well Optimum Car Wax works with QEW. I washed a panel, made the first drying pass then spritzed the panel with OCW and wiped dry with a clean microfiber towel. Worked great, slightly darkened the paint and noticably slickened it up. Real fast way to do a quick wash and wax and only go around the vehicle one time.
2004 GMC Sierra. This one is basically a Silverado SS in GMC trim. Same 345 hp 6 liter Vortec V8, 20" factory wheels but this one is RWD only and doesn't have the SS interior trim. Definitely a nice sleeper.
The owner had his fence sealed a few weeks ago and the workers didn't bother to close the garage door and fence sealer got all over the top half and passenger side of the truck. Really nasty stuff too. The owner wiped his truck down with mineral spirts as soon as he saw the overspray, which he said got some off but the rest wouldn't budge.
I washed the truck then clayed it. Claying was smoothing the paint but there were still specks of sealer all over the top and right side. Menzerna 106FF with a Meguiars polishing pad did nothing. Optimum's Hyper Compound with a green Propel lite cut pad did very little. Clearkote's Compound with a Meguiars polishing pad did the trick. It was still taking several slow passes with the PC on 6 to do the work so I switched to the burgandy cutting pad and that went quicker. There was some very light hazing so I went back over the top and right side with Clearkote's Compound and the polishing pad again, plus the rest of the truck. I was very pleased with now nice the finish already was using a pretty serious compound. I then went over the whole truck with Menzerna's FF106 with a Meguiars polishing pad, then Optimum Car Wax by hand and Natty's Blue by hand.
Sorry about no before shots but there was no sun when I started and you could only clearly see the dots at an angle, not sure if the camera would have picked them up, plus I only had 4 shots left anyway. Besides, I started around noon and it took me to nearly 5 PM so I really didn't have time to keep stopping for pics as it was.
The paint looked really deep and black on the shade side!
wow all the details are looking incredible..especially the h2 it looks almost orange...are u doing anything special to the rims because the look unbelievable
Very nice polish. Cut seems similar to Meguiars #80 and it finishes down very clear and wet. Dusts a bit though but if you scuff the pad and then pat on the pad, it frees the dust. Still not sure if I like it more then Optimum Polish though since the look isn't quite as warm. I've only used it on black though. I bet on silvers, metallics, etc it is going to be tough to beat.
jchetty-I just wash them down with QEW and polish out with Vanilla Moose every couple of months.
This i find quite interesting. I thought even with many passes, with say an orange cutting pad , that Hyper would be able to do so.. Regardless, love the work on the Rolls..
:nixweiss It might have with a burgandy Meguiars cutting pad but I didn't have a fresh one with me to try. When I first tested Clearkote's Compound, Everett specifically mentioned how well it works on overspray and he was dead on.
