Won't IPA will also take off car wax?

So I should do that before/during a polish & wax the car?

The idea is not to get it on the paint.

But in general, you should work on the trim prior to polishing and waxing anyway. The eBook tells you this. Makes cleaner wax/polish residue off much easier.

Swirls: let me make this easy to start. Go by Wal Mart and purchase a tube of Meguiars scratch X a set of microfiber towels and a yellow foam applicator. Now find a test area on your car that has swirls but the area is not in plain view. After cleaning this area apply a small( very small amount) of scratch X to the applicator and rub ( work the product) in the direction the wind blows over your car and not in circles. This product must be worked because it is not a wax and dry type product. Rub ,rub, rub with medium pressure and then buff with the microfiber towel (mf). Shine a strong light on the area and see if this removed the swirls.

BTW: this will remove your perma coating

Then post back and lets us know how you are doing.

I assume the Perma-Coat is a product like Auto Armor which is being discussed now in another thread. All it is is a sealant like Zaino or Klasse. As long as you protect the paint again, then there's no harm in removing it.
