I couldn't wait to show it off

I just picked this car up last week and it has either been snowing or raining ever since. Its a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited in regal blue. I did catch a moment of sun at work and was able to take a couple pictures. It got overcast by the time I got home, so those pictures aren't really to show off the shine as much as they are to show off the lines of the car. I know that any car that color will look great in the shade, but the car is just so damn sexy that I had to shoot it. ;) Here's one in the sun and a few with overcast conditions. So far that is just 2 layers of Wolfgang on it. I've got a third layer on and a coat of Pinnacle Signature now. I think I'll wait till spring to get any other glamour shots for now.

No coveting my Autopia license plate frame, now. :D

That thing is such a blast to drive. Right now the only things on the 'to do' list are HIDs, tint, and a car cover. HIDs are on their way. Tint is scheduled and Car Cover is being saved for. Detailing season started early this year, so I should have that by April for sure. So far I'm just getting adjusted to a darker color car after having my white Acura for so long. There is a certian level of 'imperfection' that I am going to have to get adjusted to living with I think. I can't be out in the garage waxing it every night. ...or can I?

WG or Klasse? Although I've never used WG, the K-twins are always excellent on dark colors. I'm now considering FMJ as a topper to SG....

You used to be a Klasse addict, right? What happened to draw you over to WG? Or is it a "change is as good as a rest" situation?

Great looking car, Tony! Are you keeping your Integra too? What is it like now driving something with a lot of midrange power? No more waiting on the switchover to VTEC, eh? I hear those Subies build boost pretty quickly!

The paint looks great already. :up Just FYI, Wolfgang looks terrific over AIO on dark paint; just something you may want to try when you go nuts on the car when the weather is better. :)

Love those lines, think they did a fine job on that car. One in my neighborhood, guy parks outside, been looking at it everyday and it just keeps on looking better.

holland_patrick is right; get the trunk monkey on board ASAP. :D

I'm happy with my WRX for the moment, but I would love a Legacy GT wagon to toy around with. Intake, exhaust, some Cobb ECU magic . . . mmmmm, sleeper!

Great lookin' ride, Jngr . . .

Anthony: Gorgeous!

Care to share what the Signature added over WG x 3?

The Signature just went on last night, so I really don't have anything to report just yet. I will say that it looked like wet paint in the garage last night. After 3 layers of WG it never looked like that. I don't know if it looks any different in the sun yet, but in the shadows there is a real difference.

AIO is a great base and I agree with you 100% on that, Scott. I used the WG pre-cleaner instead on this. I've used AIO as a base with WG before and I prefer the WG pre cleaner with this particular product. I still use AIO as a base for UPP and SG, but WG does well with its own pre cleaner.

I sold the Integra to buy this car. I did some market research and discovered that I was at a point where the car would start depreciating faster than before. It was getting up there in miles and it was getting close to the time where it nickles and dimes you for awhile. I just don't have the time to deal with that. So I sold while the stock was high and got exactly what I wanted for it. :) Its always nice when that happens.

I'm still a huge Klasse fan. I use it in the fall to protect cars from the winter harshness. For looks I just can't get enough of Wolfgang though. Its proven to be just the kind of product I have been looking for. 3 layers and a coat of carnauba and IMO it doesn't get any better. Maybe I've just been doing this so long that I've finally settled for what looks good enough for me. lol

Very nice car :)

Does your chimney leak or is it covered for the winter cause of heat loss?

Actually, that is called a 'swamp cooler'. Utah is super dry and lots of houses use that instead of air conditioning. We just bought the house in October and figured we'd wait till summer to put in air conditioning. I'm not much of a swamp cooler kind of guy. Anyway, you have to cover them in the winter since they are basically just big open vents that go straight into your house.

I've heard people say the new Legacy 2.5 GT is like the WRX for the over 25 crowd!

Kinda. Its more like a tuned down STi. Same motor as the STi but with a smaller turbo. I don't really need a rally car or anything with a big wing. I'll be 30 next year and even though I don't look my age, I should really consider starting to act like it. Maybe I'll start acting like it next year... ;) Some good old fashioned COBB tuning is top of the list after this first round of 'Scooby Snacks'. HIDs, tint, and a car cover are top priorities. COBB accessport is next on the list. Gonna have to detail a few more cars for that one...

If the sun ever comes out here again then I'll post some better pictures. I'm the number one drum thumper for not posting pictures of dark cars in the shade, so I've got to redeem myself by posting some better sun shots. ;) Thanks for the compliments though. I spent 5 hours cleaning it up the day after I bought it. (Wash, ABC, DACP, 4*SMR, WG pre cleaner, WG) I didn't believe that a new car could look better than it does, but I was wrong. I'm looking forward to the challenge of a dark car again. I've had it easy with white and beige for far too long... ;)

Jngr,

Cobb ECU tuning gets massive :up :up :up from me. I have an AccessPORT on my WRX, running stage 2.5 (VF-34 turbo, STi injectors, turbo-back exhaust, up-pipe). I had just the stage 2 reflash prior to my warranty expiring, and even with just exhaust mods and the reflash, the change in the car is night and day.
