I just spent the entire day on the car. I applied DACP by hand. I know it would have worked better with a PC, but it really seems to have done some good. The marring from removing a bird bomb is much less visible.
Then I applied Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze. I had my hubby look at the car when I was half way through applying it. (stopped for supper, thanks for cooking Stirling) Even though I couldn't see much difference, Stirling could tell which parts were done and which weren't - just as well - I couldn't remember if I had done the trunk lid.
His comments: It looks much darker and wet. This is the first thing you've done to the car that is really remarkable.
Then, I waxed it with Meguiar's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. Thank goodness that stuff goes on easy and buffs off easily. I am sooooo tired, I was afraid I might not get finished.
So, I'm dying to see it in daylight (I worked in the condo underground garage with a trouble light). I'll dress the trim tomorrow and take some pictures if I have time.
Thanks to all the Autopians who made suggestions. I think I'm going to like this.
