I am looking for a new water based tire dressing.

I hate dressings that are thick like oil and sticky. I am looking for a new one that I can use on customer cars. I have been looking at some of the Car bright line that is Here I see that there is only a few that dont have silicones. Any tips with any of them? I need one that drys fast, and has a med shine. I would like to try some of the car bright stuff because I have a dis close. I may also try some of the Pro stuff, problem there is I dont have a Dis. so I have to order it. Any tips?

PS I love Z16 but I cant use it on all my customer cars.. Just costs to much, wish I could:bow

Try Eagle One protectant lotion, it's pretty good and cheap. K-Mart typically has it. It was Eagle One's replacement product for the Concours dressing, one of my all time favs. :up

Intel knows about the Pro stuff, he should be able to help in that area.

THX SRL! I like EO stuff already:)

I also see that Intels fav Glosso is on sale at pro's site for $17.96 a gallon:nixweiss

I use the EO Lotion on my customer cars. Goes on easy, dries fast to a matte/low gloss finish. I didn't like it at first because I thought it was too runny, but that aspect actually makes it easier to apply. The only reason I don't use it on my own car is that it doesn't seem to last as long, and my car is a daily driver that sees lots of rain.

Turtle wax tire gel was my favorite.........if you can still find it....

Buffing after application results in a lower gloss shine.......

Glosso is awesome for interiors. Dries 100%

For tires you'll want S-97 Wipe-On Gloss. It is thicker and made for exterior rubber.

Paul, I use Meguiar's Endurance. Not the high gloss, but the regular stuff. Takes a bit longer to "cure" as such. Rub on, let sit for 10 minutes or so, and then buff dry, and I get a low/medium gloss shine that does not wear out for about 3 weeks, unless we get torrential downpours like we have this week, then nothing works. :)

I have extensively tested the carbrite line of dressings and have found (surprisingly) that "special protect all" dressing works best when applied properly. It is also cheaper than "WOW" qand has a nice satin finish.

I use stoners Trim shine.

I buy it directly from them for about $50.00 for a 5 gallon container. It last me about 3-4 weeks

this stuff works great

I've thought about getting some of that to try.

You use it on tires? What is your method of application?

How long does it last w/o rain and if it rains?

When driving does it streak on the tires if they hit a puddle or moisture runs down the rubber?

Does it leave any browning on the tires?

How much do you pay for shipping on something like that?

Stoner's does not charge for shipping, it's already included in the price. You can't beat the 5 gallon pail for $50. I dilute it for the interior for a satin finish, so I even get more use out of it. I use it full strength for the exterior. I spray right onto the tires and let it dry, no wiping. I've noticed no browning of the tires and it does not stain your quarter panels like solvent base dressings do. I've had it last for up to two weeks on my cars.

Thanks for the info. $50 for 5 gallons is a great price!

Did it last two weeks with any rain in there? I mean, if you drive in the rain will it wash off?

I'm asking this mainly because it rains here a LOT! In fact, it is pouring down rain right now.

Hey Nj, when you dilute it, I have found it does not last as long. What i do instead is apply it using less product. I have noticed the more off stoners you use the brighter is becomes.

As for the tires Intel, I just spray it on, come back later and wipe around the rims. Or sometime I use an applicator pad and wipe it on, depends on my mood.

I dont like the aeresol cans of it though, i noticed you will get overspray on the car. I like the 5 gallon pail, I then put it in my own bottles to use.

NYD

the aerosal cans do have a little overspray but it is fast to apply and what i do is just spray it on the tires before i dry the car off because it does have a water repelant in the can so i dry the car after the tire applications
