That unit is rated for a 3 - 3 1/2 car garage and you have a 2 car garage. You are better off with too much heat than not enough! Your garage is going to be good enough to live in if you keep this up.:)

10 year warranty on heat exchanger is not bad. Where was it manufactured?

So, Redcar, how's about a little X-mas present for the geeky one? Might your friend be able to pick up a second unit? :D

for real I will ask, I think she can only get 2 a year ;)

what size?

getting a heater is worth it for a garage. I had to use it already as it gets so cold in michigan. Definitely a worthwhile investment imo:xyxthumbs

that looks like a real nice unit, real nice indeed....

sorry, its a keeper:)

As the saying goes.... be careful getting a unit which is overkill for your situation. Sometimes, the excess heating or cooling causes the unit to short cycle, sending a hot blast of air which shuts down the thermostat and the temperaturte kinda bounces because of it. Happened in a computer room of one of my clients... people always complaining because the temperature changed so rapidly.

Anyway, enjoy the heat... is that thing electric or propane?

THX for the tip, it will be natural gas:)

Hello. I just purchased two of these for my garage.

http://www.wbmarvin.com/heater/7060.htm

These are quartz radiant heaters. Has two settings (750W and 1500W). They put out about 5000 BTU each.

I have had my garage wired with two ceiling plugs, each on their own circuits, with two wall switches to control these heaters. I haven't put them up yet, but will before Christmas :) I live in a mild climate (Vancouver, BC).

With these heaters, they heat a space as opposed to a whole room. This is for casual use.

Harry.
