I am getting really hooked on IW845

I do give the nod to 1000P for appearance , but the 845 with its ease of use , durability and looks that are softer than 1000P , but really just a different appearance , and it does not stain my grained trim . I brought the shimmer back up with using some AW or a qd , but it still looked great even without the fresh waxed look. Sheds water and dirt very. I also have a coat ( just one ) on my silver Rav4 and that was a few months ago and the wife has ran it through many carwashes and it shines beautifully . She maintains wipedowns with 425.

OCW Works very well on top of FK1000P, refreshing (and adding to) the look whilst giving better durability than the (admittedly very good) FK425 QD.

Yeah, even with 845 being a "bright, reflective" wax that's IMO not all *that* different from sealants, I can see how some vehicles would look better/worse with FK1000P or 845.

I must be the only person here who's done OK with FK1000P on textured trim  You *do* have to go about it just right though, and with stuff like C4/Ultima Trim Sealant on the market, as well as 845, maybe it's not worth struggling with.

Funny how sometimes one coat lasts just fine, and other times it doesn't :nixweiss

I never did either (assumptions about solvent action for one reason) until somebody here adamantly insisted it made a huge diff; I tried it on some wheels and sure enough, night-and-day difference.

Interesting. I may give it another shot. Thx.

I also found using a polish like DG 501 or 105 first has provided better looks . 845 is so easy that multiple coats is a breeze and does enhance the look.

Every liquid wax has solvents in it to break it down into a liquid workable form.

Ditto for pastes for that matter. But the solvents don't always result in such aggressive solvent action as to preclude layering.
