What is on the windows of a Toyota 4Runner that seems to be a permenant coating of rain x. Should I be cautious when cleaning them? Is glass polish or clay safe on them?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I have a Lexus with the same type of coating on the side windows. I haven't had any problems/issues with them and I clean them as I would a normal window (20-20 with a mf).

I doubt that you will need polish or clay on anything but the windshield. Lexus only treats the sides and I'd guess that Nissan does the same. Your wipers will screw up a coating on a windshield.

It's actually a Toyota, so that would make sense Lexus has the same thing. I just wonder what it is and how/why is lasts so long. Going 3 years strong.
