I can definitely vouch for hydro, I just redid it four months later and honestly it was still going strong. The only reason why I stripped it because it needed a clay. Used citrus wash heavily diluted an it finally came off. It's probably the only stuff I use as this point beside hybrid v7 as a qd.
Opinions on bonding, I've done over 30+ cars with it so I know what's it likes and doesn't. Although hydro is extremely easy to use there are some draw backs...
1. Keep it out the sun! You can be in a heavily lit area but it must be artificial, for some reason when this stuff gets direct sun it becomes very splotchy.
2. Ratios are everything, if you mess up the ratio again it will be splotchy and in extreme cases you will actually have high spots (usually this is caused by a ratio that is too concentrated). High spots are also caused by over lapping. Ex. You spray one side of the hood and treat it, then the other and in the center you may have some overlapping to wash over. It happened with an M5 I did a while back, I actually had to use a light polish to remove it.
3. It will adhear to lsp's but definitely prefers synthetic stuff especially sealants. I'm not sure but I think it's the composition of the stuff.
4. It will adhear to Rims, trim and tires. I've actually gotten creative with it and noticed using a light (I emphasize LIGHT) dressing, you can actually lock in the dressing for longer periods of time when topped with hydro. Moral... Do the rims and the tires in one shot if your going to hydro the rims.
5. Glass, overall very good but it really doesn't like sitting on long. If you let hydro sit for over 30+ seconds you will get spotting and it is pita to rub off.
6. Time is key as well as being ready to go. Hydro is a very time sensitive thing, again let it sit for no more than 30 seconds. You have to be prepared to blast it almost immediately. Do panel by panel... Top down and you should be fine.
7. Doesn't like Japanese paint unless it's polished. I don't know why or how but with German cars I never get an spotting or run lines. I find that with Honda an infinity paints it really gets very tempermental.
Overall I love the stuff an absolutely killer combo that will leave ridiculous gloss is this.
If your going to clay use cg citrus wash n gloss (heavy dilution) than use 1z pearls as a secondary wash and finally top it with hydro. If your just washing than 1z perls topped with hydro is plenty of enough.
