Hydro tech Pad Question

Hello,

I just started using my Griots second generation buffer and tried a 4" hydro tech tangerine pad and after one use the center of the pad caved in. The backing is noticeably harder in the center also. Is the pad wrecked? Should I throw it away?

Thank you

if you use a small DA backing plate it's 3 inches across, and if you use 4" pads that have the velcro extended to the edge, with pressure and overtime it will concave in where the excess velcro is not covered (like using the lake country 6.5" pads with a 5" DA backing plate). that's why i like the megs 4" pads (glad they finally came out after many years) as the velcro is recessed in (like the example pic below) and fits the backing plate snug. the velcro is 3 inches and the foam is extended out 1/2 inch on both sides = 4" pad, where as some 4" pads have the velcro 4 inches across the whole pad. i'm sure your pad is still good. some like the velcro extended all the way to the edge of the pad and some don't, it's personal preference...
