How to store and carry a Cyclo polisher

Hello all,

in the past I was only reading and now it is time for my first post.

I read a lot and finally bought a Cyclo 5 polisher to do the next step of car detailing. Now I have the nice little device but have nothing to store it properly. It is a little bit bulky with the two heads - so how do you keep it dust free if not used?

Thanks for this great forum and your ideas/product recommendations,

Cosimino

I just keep mine in a drawer in my tool chest. It used to stay sitting on my work bench and would still be there if I didn't have a big drawer. LOL

If you go to "Lowe's" are even Home Depot, you will find very inexpensive tool boxes. That will work very well. If you shop wisely you will even end up with room for some pads, wax, whatever.

What ever you put in in, make sure the cord is not bent sharply where it enters the machine. I have had two Cyclos break possibly because the cord was stored in this manner. You would think the cord would be more durable, but in my case it has not been. I am waiting on my new cord to see if indeed the cord is bad or something else is going on.

until i really get a chance to look around, i've just kept mine in the box it came in - kind of cheesy, but it works. ;)

same with the pads - i just keep them stacked in the box i got all of my pads in. i have all of my detaiiling supplies in a large rubbermaid type box, with enough room for the cyclo box and the pad box.

brwill2005 that could be a serious problem like in dangerous! I would really like to know what you find when you open it up.

I have a new one and looked at it. The cord going into the housing has an extra piece of what appears to be rubber tubing that is rather thin and of little use as a strain relief for it's designated use. Once you get it open maybe you will have room to "add" an internal strain relief .

Forgot to add.

In addition to the above. It would not be possible to take mine apart unless you have a big piece of shrink wrap to put around the handle and shrink down to form a seal/non slip handle surface. This shrink rap if that is indeed what it is will probably have to be ordered from the factory.

I took both of them apart. There is no noticable shorts or burnt areas. Top of the Line sent me a new cord and shrink wrap. I should be receiving the package tomorrow. I will post the results of the repair. I am crossing my fingers that the cord is the problem.
