How to Remove Wax

Hi all, I've been on here for a while not posting much but gathering loads of information that has been provided. I have an 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, I maintenance the paint (re-painted 10 years ago), and I wash, clay, seal and wax every 3 to 6 months. (I live in the Northeast). after my last claying session, I added Meguiars Gold Class wax and it seems lately after every time I take the car out for a ride I feel the paint and I can feel the particles embedded in the paint. I believe that I may have too much wax build up and need to start all over again. I tried removing them with a QD, but they remain, Ok to the question, how do you remove wax from paint properly? I hear dawn to my wash bucket, using wax cleaner, etc. As you can tell this gets confusing...Your technique please?

Photos? My first car was a '78 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham, blue. Loved that car. Only had the 260, though.

My usual decon wash consists of a Chemical Guys Citrus\Dawn mix, followed by IronX, then another Citrus wash.

what everyone above said will work on stripping the wax but like Angus asked are you polishing after or just re applying a new coat?
Claying can also sometimes "mar" the paint and has to be followed up with a light polish to remove the marring.
If you polish, that'll remove the wax as well.
