How to remove water stains on cloth seats, 2005 Dodge Ram

Hey dudes-

My neighbor has a 2005 Dodge Ram with light grey cloth interior. After a water skiing trip the kids sat in the back seats and with wet clothes and now there are water stains on the seats.

What might be the best method to remove them?

I have the following:

-water/woolite 8:1

-tuff stuff foam

-turtle wax foam

-Folex

-Bissell steam cleaner vac with hand attachments like a BLGM

My main concern is I don't want my cleaning method to cause more water stains. Perhaps the foam or Folex might be the best?

Thanks in advance.

Justin

as with paint, try the least aggressive method as possible first. Also inform your neighbor that quite possibly trying to fix this problem could possibly cause a bigger problem.

Hydro, the stain is from a few weeks ago so it is dried in there. I think maybe due to it being river water, it left like a brownish ring. Ever seen water stains on a ceiling tile or on a headliner? Kinda like that.

I think I'll put some Folex on a MF and see what that does. Maybe I can remove the stain w/o getting the seat too wet.

Vacuum the whole seat, sides, backs, everything, because any moisture transfer in cleaning might stain that area too.

You could try a damp cloth sprayed with cleaner wipe first, sometimes it works, and it dries fast enough to know if it worked.

If that doesn't work and you have a foam cleaner try it. Spray twice and let sit for 1 minute. Take a wet cloth and wipe the total area that is to be cleaned. Be aware that, any other areas that get wet might also stain. So try and keep it to that area being cleaned, example sitting area not sides.

Now it might look clean until it drys. You might be able to use a slightly damp towel to remove any remaining stains, wipe total area again.

If that didn't work you have to spot the stains with a cleaner like Folex and use an extractor.

And sometimes simple stains do not release from this ..itty fabric, that a lot of companies are coming out with.
