How to remove overspray from Engine

Just bought a very decent 85 Vette, repainted in the last 3 months with the OEM "Lipstick Red" paint.

Only problem, the paint shop was sloppy and the engine & various parts has some "pink" overspray on everything.

What is the best way( besides clay) to get this off?

Thanks

Paint thinner. There really isn't an easy way to remove it. Use paint thinner where you can and try using clay where you can't.

What surfaces did the paint hit? Plastic housings or the aluminum? Depending on the type of surface that the paint is on, the prescription may change.

what have you tried so far? It may be that you need to replace some stuff. Not everything can be fixed up the way it was after paint gets on it. I learned that on DetailCity. :D

Use clay on shiny surfaces. Is the paint urethane enamyl or acrylic enamyl. Use reducer with the former, and thinner with the latter or with base-clear. Do that on places you can't get. Paint the hoses.

Why not take it back to where you had the car painted you paid for the job, why should you feel the pain of removing that much overspray and you might have to pay to replace the parts where there's overspray. a little overspray is expected i think he should have protected the parts, what do you guys think.?

i would bet any of the guys here who detail for a living wouldn't leave wax and sling all over a customers car and trim, molding etc before returning it back to there client. but if you want to do yourself then thats ok, not me i would bring it back imo.

I agree that not all parts can be fixed or get all the paint off....paint and or laquer thinner will take paint off pretty fast...its not alway rubber and plastic freindly so caution there...The painted areas are not problem.
