how to remove mark on glass?

I have a curved line on the driver's side of my windshield. You cannot feel any scratch in the windshield, but the mark will not come off with soap and water. Has anyone had experience removing such a mark and what did you use? The last thing I want to do is make it worse.

Thank you for responses. The car is a 91 corvette. I have had it for only 1 year. The mark was there when I got the car. It aligns with the end of the wiper blade. As I said, the mark cannot be sensed by your hand; there seems to be no actual scratch on the glass. But it is definitely there. I will try glass polish and any other suggestions you may have.

Given the age of the car I would firstly try clay and then a glass polish. Sounds like some kind of wiper blade buildup.



If these dont work consider stronger techniques light lighter fluid etc.



If you have a PC Autoglym Glass Polish works very well.
