How to REMOVE factory vinyl stripes?

I have a fender that I need to replace on my Mustang since I was involved in a fender bender.



The fender is in great shape and is the correct color, so it's an easy replacement. However, it has a vinyl stripe on the bottom and I need to remove this. Does this simply peel off or is there a special secret to doing this?

Just get a hair dryer, heat it up and pull them off. They should be easy. Any left over adhesive can be removed with an automotive paint safe adhesive remover.
 
I recognize that Mach 1 stripe :D



We removed ALL the black stripes from a buddies 03 black Mach 1 and replaced them with silver. We used a heat gun to soften the vinyl/adhesive but, as Danase said, a hair dryer will work also. We had no adhesive residue to remove either, it all came off with the stripes
