How to clean the new kids

looks like the neighbor is washing/detailing thier car too? too bad it won't look as nice as your's! :rofl

Thanks!

The funny (?) thing is that guy works on his little SUV 3-4 hours and when he is done it doesn't look like he did anything more than wash it!

Great work on all three vehicles John! It was good chatting with you the other night, it looks like all your research is paying off. :bigups The NXT on the white does look excellent, I was surprised how good it turned out on a lighter color.

Do get some tire dressing on, as Paul mentioned it will really show the contrast against the paint. One other thing not to forget is to put some kind of dressing in the wheel wheels. This is really a finishing touch and sets you apart from everyone else. Very Autopian and now that I have started doing it I really notice a difference. I use good old Armor All or STP Son of a Gun (it's cheap and I have lots) as it really brings the liner material to life. Believe me, people will notice it.

Have a great Fourth of July everyone from your neighbour to the north. :wavey

Thanks Paul!

I tend to be one of these OCD people that researches EVERYTHING about something before I get started with it. I was surprised how well the Lexi turned out. I always love to chat with the experts!

I plan to get something on the tires, but like I said in an earlier post, I am not a big fan of the tires that look real oily. I love a nice black tire, but I don't like all the super shiny stuff. I never thought about doing the wheel wells!

I guess I am becoming a tru Autopian, I was at Sam's today and was noticing how BAD that the cars were looking. Even those that were obviously cleaned and waxed still looked REALLY bad! :usa

I think you are well on your way John! Another dressing you may like is the Michelin one as it leaves a very black matte look. My friend isn't a big fan of it as she likes a shiny tire. I hear you with looking at other cars. I popped into Walmart tonight to get some Eagle One A2Z as I'm hearing the new formulation doesn't clean as well. I made sure I parked away from other cars and as I walk into the store I'm shaking my head at the filth, scratches and swirls on all the cars.

It used to be that once we got the warmer weather here people washed and cleaned up their cars. The last few years I'm seeing a trend where more and more people don't care. I don't know if the water bans have had an effect or they can't be bothered cleaning. Sorry, didn't mean to steal your thread!

Have a great day!

Paul

Thanks again John, parking lots are a never ending source of amusement.

Imacarnut - Thanks for posting the link, it is a good dressing if you don't like an oily glossy finish. Plus it is OTC but I remember it was hard to find. Hopefully that has changed!

OK, I got some MG tire dressing today (it smells like grape Kool aid!) I have to admit that they do look better. They are not super shiny but they do look nice and black.

I will post a pic of each when I get a chance. :xyxthumbs

MG tire dressing? MG=what?

BTW the chat is tonight John, if you're interested in chatting with "the experts" again. :)

The chat is held every Monday and Wednesday night at 8:30PM CDT.
