OK, went to Lowe's and they didn't have the 7336 so I found a 7424 down the street. I have ordered the Sonus DAS pads from Autopia. Now all I have to do is get the product. I am chomping at the bit to get started on thee vehicles!

:spot :hifive:

OK, I spent the day buffing, polishing and waxing "the kids". I would love to post some pics but I can't upload any. I don't want to post the small ones here.

I have to admit, the cars after the PC are INCREDIBLE!

OK, here are small ones, I will try to get bigger ones loaded.

The LS-430 after detailing.

Hi guys. I've been looking for a forum like this for ages. I've been picking up what little tips i can from a forum here and there. I have a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS in Midnight Blue. I've been getting my car handwashed during the winter and i've been doing it myself with meguirs gold wash and wax in the warmer months. I recently got an orbital buffer from sears as a gift (new), and from what I hear that isn't going to get me far. I have turtle wax scrub free wheel polish, meguirs tire black, meguirs NXT dashboard protector, the meguirs gold wash and the meguirs gold wax. I have a chamois that i picked up at the new york auto show and it leaves some beads even after a few passes. I'm really starting from scrach here in terms of knowledge, I'm a computer technician lol. Comments...Suggestions? I'd really like to get this car looking great, not that the meguirs wash doesn't, but you catch my drift.

lexuslvr: I am also new to this and I have found that EVERYTIME I have followed the advice from this board the results have been ...WOW!!!! I have a cheap rotary from Harbor Freight (actually free- a detailer here in Vegas gave it to me). The worst part of this whole thing is finding what works best for YOU. Alot of great products out there.

I am very pleased with the results, but I am thinking that I could have done better with a rotary!

May just have to get one of those too! :-)

Thanks for the compliments, I think they look pretty good.

Very nice blue. I'm curious...what made you decide to buy 3 brand new cars? What did you drive before?

I had an '01 LS 430 and an '03 F-150 SuperCrew King Ranch 4x4.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer and she had a '92 Cadillac Fleetwood. The Cady started giving us trouble so we traded the LS & Fleetwood for the '04 LS. My mother could not get in the pickup and asked me if we could get something that was AWD that she could get in so we got the RX. My roommate needed a new vehicle so he got the '05 Equinox.

The Equinox obviously isn't mine, but I know who is going to be taking care of it and trying to keep it looking decent. He has NO idea what to do with a car.

Look great :)

What polishes waxes did you end up using?

To make white stand out as much as possible, you need to make the trim, and tires look really good. Poorboys Trim restore for the textured trim will make you fall in love :)

Megs #38 is good for the smooth trim like around the doors.

A favorite local tire dressing of mine is the Dupont teflon tire stuff. I dont know what the teflon is supposed to mean or do, but the stuff works pretty well for OTC.

After viewing the national radar image, I'd say you need to get those shiny vehicles in the garage before it rains!

Those shiny vehicles ARE in the garage and I don't plan on taking them out tomorrow at all!! :usa

Glad to hear that they're out of the weather.

I agree with JBM. The tires especially, are very important for a white car. The car's paint will contrast heavily with the tires, and thus will look brighter and more pure white if the tires are a dark black. I like a slight gloss and very dark black finish on my tires, so I prefer Wolfgang Tire Gel.

OK time for bed. It's 9:30PM and I have to leave for work at 3:30AM. :(

Thanks! I didn't really do much other than wash with NXT and wax with NXT. I knew that I needed to treat the tires and trim, but I am NOT fond of the super shiny tire look. I just need to get some more products in here.

This was a job that HAD to be done. The LS had not been waxed since I got it in August of '04 and I wanted the RX to look decent too!

Good grief that is early!!!

I am going to treat the tires as soon as I get something decent. I will try the Wolfgang Tire Gel.
