How to bring out pearl in paint.

I ust bought a 2009 MazdaSpeed3 in Crystal White Pearl. My previous car was a SS red Volvo S40, a completely different animal all together.



So my question is, what can I use to bring out the pearl in the paint? I have a large array of products, but I am not averse to buying new stuff.

clay, yes clay, new cars lots of raildust on them, men. PO85RD with finishing pad, RMG, Pin Souveran.
 
I totally agree with MDRX8, esp. with the RMG stage, its the pearl/metalic popper, different glazes have different content and this one is the best single product to bring out pearl on well presented paintwork. Best applied with a machine IME for maximum pop!
 
What is PO85RD?



What is the correct layering technique for a glaze?

Sealant -- Glaze -- Wax?

I put on a coat of EX-P sealant yesterday.

Doesn't take much to make our CWP pop. Just give it a good clay, polish, and I use Autoglym HD. Trying Powerlock next week, we will see how it looks with Sealant.



BTW, the pearl is harder to see in the shade than the sun.
 
On white, I love the way Optimum Opti-Seal or Collinite 845IW looks. Another great glaze for white is Poorboys World White Diamond Glaze. It is made for white and light color paints.
 
Sorry for the lack of update. My car was in a hit and run (while parked) on my drivers door that caused $1000 worth of damage. Since then, I've been pretty disgusted. A giant scratch/ dent on your brand new car doesn't put you in the detailing mood...

I compounded the hood with M105 and M205 because it had some major swirls. I probably got 95% correction with that. I have a few 50/50's, but it's hard to catch with white pearl.

I did order a bunch of Autoglym stuff. I used the SRP and extra gloss with a coat of HD wax over the top. It turned out really good I think. I will update pics soon.

Tell me about it! My wife's 45 day old 2010 Jetta Wagon got rear ended by a kid with no license/insurance. The cop let him go with a couple tickets (to drive away illegally mind you)! Since then his fathers insurance has dodged every attempt to collect on repairs.





Sorry for your troubles. People have no respect for anyone these days.
