How often should I wash my car?? I wash mine about once a month with MOTHERS car wash. I only wash not and wax (never polish or wax). My Volvo S70 makes tons of brake dust (you know what I mean if you're a Volvo owner), two weeks and the rims are cover in black totally. Drive about 800-900 KMs a month. Is a good to wash it weekly??

I've always washed mine a couple times a week weather permitting. Also if you have brake dust .. lots of washing keeps it from imbedding in the rims

I normally wash mine as often as needed....it can be 3 times a week or twice a month depending on the weather. When the weather is good, I'll use my California Duster and Quikshine to maintain the appearance.

I've got ceramic brake pads, so there is very little brake dust on my wheels, even after two weeks.

At the very least, you should be cleaning your wheels at least once a week to prevent the brake dust from building up and eventually ruining the wheel coating.

Yep every weekend my car gets washed.

In my opinion, once a month is not nearly enough, even if you're not talking about appearance. Grime, bird droppings, tar and bugs sitting on the finish for a month, big no no if you ask me.

I'd reccomend at least twice a month, I do it weekly because I can't stand a dirty car.

I wash my Truck at least once a week weather permitting and quick detail it and clean the rims a couple times a week.

Wash our truck and van once a week weather permitting. I tend to do a panel or two with S100 after the wash. Say after a month I have S100 waxxed the entire vehicle and then begin again.

With that bad brake dust, you will prbably need to wash the wheels perhaps even twice as frequently as you wash the whole car. Washing with car wash using an Oxo wheel brush has proven to me to be very effective and pretty quick as well. :up

Sad thing is, I haven't been able to wash my car for more than 3 weeks now. The only time I have is late in the day when the weather is good and I'd rather skate at the park if there is still available daylight and on rainy days I have more than enough time, but no point in washing my car then.

One of these days though....

What :scared Are there people not washing their car every single day?

Are they crazy? LOL.

I try to wash my car every weekend and QD. If the car needs its carwash before and weather permits I'll do it.

I think I wax to often maybe every two weeks or so per car. I have two cars so every weekend I have work to do.

SlvrChrm03Max - yeah, right! For 4-6 months of the year. I used to live in Calgary where "it was 9 months winter and 3 months poor skiing."

Ottawa winter weather is slightly different than in Calgary, but you're right. "Outdoor" car washing activities are restricted to the timeframe between April to + or - October.

But keep in mind that it is possible to wash a car in a heated garage in the winter as often as you want. ;)

I just washed my car today and saw the brake dust already baked on to the rims :(. Last wash was about a month ago.

Still haven't washed mine. Almost 4 weeks now...didn't get done until about 6:30 PM today and by the time I got home, it was already almost dark. Chance of late night storms anyway. I'll let the rain wash it.

Still beading like mad though. ;)
