How often do you QD?

I am about to go back out to the garage and QD the Protege again. I just QD'd it yesterday, and I applied Paste Glaz the day before. I was debating whether it really needed it, and since there's a chance of drizzle tomorrow evening...



BUT I decided that I'm going to do it anyway. It'll only take 15 mins or so anyway, and it sure won't hurt anything right? :)



So, how often do you QD? Anyone guilty of twice in one day? ;)

Don't think I've ever QD'd 2x in 1 day. Bout the craziest probably has been going out at 3am when I couldn't sleep and washing & QD+'ng. :think:
 
I used to do it just about everyday until I got married. Oops, you mean QD. Any day that I drive the car I QD when the cover comes off and before it goes on. It goes on wherever I stop for more than 30 minutes. So it's usually at least two times.
 
Once at the top of the hour, and once at the bottom of the hour....inbetween that, I look like this: :work: :p



I've usually do it after every wash, although i've been using OCW instead of QD as of late.

Yeah I was wondering if anyone would come out of the neighboring apartments and see me out there this evening. I pulled the car out of the garage, and worked under the exterior lighting. There's only one light on the whole garage (8 car garage) and it happens to be right over my garage. :) Funny how sometimes, things just work out. :xyxthumbs



I also decided to wash my wheels and tires while I was at it, and go for a short drive to the gas station. I'm still driving to various gas stations to see where my car looks the best lol. I always walk toward the road and look at my car from that angle. I think the found the winner tonight. Plus the gas station attendant wasn't too bad lookin' either! ;)
 
Seeing as my car is outside 24/7 I get all sorts of dirt and debris on it. To try and counter-act this, I QD everyday when I park it for the night. This gets everything off before the dew appears and makes a gigantic mess the next morning. I also keep some crystal mist and a pakshak ultra-plush in the glove comparment for those bird incidents that have to be taken care of asap. On days that it has rained though, I won't QD for fear that the heavier dirt stuck to the sides of the car (from being slung up there by the tires) will cause marring.

Same here. Just don't have the time anymore. I usually QD after washing and maybe once between washes but not regularly.
 
I QD the exterior of my car daily, using "Z-6 & Invisible Glass".



By the way, Im also guilty of doing this twice in one day...hehe



I just can't see my car dirty :)
 
Erm...hardly ever. I can't ever see much of a difference so don't generally bother. Also, living in the country, one journey can get enough crap on the car to make QDing slightly risky. I tend to wash once a week and do the glass at the same time, but a QD hardly ever comes out on my car, they tend to just be used on clients cars as a final wipe down.



I also like to the test the durability of different products on my car with no maintenance other than washing.

I used to QD alot, but anymore I can just QEW and dry the car without taking much longer than a quick detail, so unless the car is just lightly dusty, that's what I usually do (or PB's spray & wipe).
 
Maybe a silly questions........

How clean does your car have to be before you just QD it (not wash it). My car is used daily and parked outside as a result I only QD after each wash. Could I QD more often ?
