How often, and how, to clean

Just spent two days doing the following to my Performance Blue Mondeo ST220:



1/ Wash with Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner.

2/ Clay Bar

3/ Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner applied with foam pad, removed with MF.

4/ Deep Crystal Polish applied with foam pad, removed with MF.

5/ Gold Cass Liquid Wax appled with foam pad, removed with MF.



All products are Megs and the work was done by hand, new to this so must buy a PC!!!



I want to keep the car as clean as possible so how often should I clean it? Can I just wash it once a week an apply Quick Detailer or do I need to do all of the above (except for the clay bar)? Being new to detailing I don't know how long I can expect the products to remain on the car.



PS - I will post up some pics, but it started raining about 1 hour after I finished waxing and it hasn't stopped since!!

Wash it weekly (just wash) but most waxes will only last a few weeks - depending on weather. Detail in between washes. I only do steps 1-5 twice a year but I use a sealant instead of a wax.

Many washes last longer than a few weeks, and sealants can last more than half a year. wash weekly, and search this site for good tips on what products to use and tips on your technique for prep work.
 
Josh, I think you meant "many waxes last longer than a few weeks". My car is dirty a few days after a wash! I'm sure there are durable waxes but I haven't found one that lasts long in the summer. That's why I use a sealant twice a year.
