How Much to charge?

A friend of a friend asked if I could detail the exterior of her Toyota Land Crusier! I was just curious as to what you guys think I should charge to do this... I typicly don't charge for this but I figured it would help with stocking up the detailing closet!

I also have another friend that I work with that wants me to detail her nissan sentra. What to charge for a full detail on this interior and exterior?

I figure my prices based on $40 per hour. Actually, part of THIS ARTICLE kind of goes into how I figure prices. It seems to be a good way to start. I've talked to several guys who have started that way and it works out. Just give an estimate based on how long it is going to take you. You get good at estimating after awhile.

So, what kind of detail are you talking about? A simple wash and QD spray, or a full paint defect correction detail?

Not QD .... I am figuring SSR 2.5.... PP...EX-P something along those lines ... I am figuring about 4-6 hrs on each! The Land has a lot more surface area then the sentra .... but im figuring it will take me that much more time to do the interior!

This is just my opinion, but if I were doing this job I would charge a minimum of $150 for the cruiser and $75-$100 for the Sentra since it's so small and go as high as $200 and $125. Hope this helps.

I am charging between $30-40 an hour for my work right now.

It may go up a little more depending on gas and other inflated prices.

Estimate how long it would take to do the truck. Break down each section and how long it takes on your stang, then tack on the amount of time you can guestimate extra.

FWIW: For an Ultimate detail (full interior job, clay, polish, seal, and everything else on the exterior), I would charge $210.
