How much to charge?

Classy Detail

I live in Los Angeles county. I'm just wondering if my prices are in the right range. I always do a good job. My customers are always satisfied with the job I do. It takes us (I have 1 helper) 3 to 4 hrs to do a complete detail on a medium size car (Corolla). SUV (Expedition) 5 to 6 hrs.

Small to medium cars: $120 - $140

SUV's (Expedition): $150 - $170 (Suburban/Excursion): $160 - $190

Any advice will be appreciated.

Here in the Dallas area, there is a lot of competition, so my prices are a little less, but not that much anymore...and engine cleaning is not included in the price.

Cars normally run from $90-125, depending on size and condition, with clay detailing and swirl/oxidation removal extra and SUVs run from $115 to about $175, again dependent on condition and size.

I'd say on average, I charge about $110 for cars, $125 for extended/club cab trucks and $150 for minivans and SUVs. Anything beyond a two step process on the paint is extra. I know Anthony charges a lot more, but he always includes engine cleaning and more extensive paint work, usually 3-4 steps and claying. Most of my regulars customer's car rarely need claying and since I take care of them often (usually waxing every 2 months), normally a two step job is enough (glaze and wax).
