How many of you still Polish/Wax by hand?

I use the "polishing pal" pad system - very ergonomic. I only use it for applying LSP and occasional spot treatments of Scratch-X.

On a side note, your avatar could use some touch-up...lol

i love polishing and waxing by hand. I use a foam applicatior pad (meguiar's) and I find I can really work the product intot the paint. I think a PC is great if you own a detailing business. I just like to keep it simple. Results always look stunning.

That's the thing about the PC - it IS simple and nearly foolproof. For $120, it's the best money you can spend to save your arm, improve results and cut down polishing time. You'll break down and get one eventually.

Of course, for a few bucks more you can step up to a rotary, but a novice cannot just pick it up and start using it.

I like to keep it simple too... so I run the 20 miles to work. Those cars are complicated. :p :buffing:

I do, I use the Meguiars pads. I may eventually get a pc, because my arm does feel like it will seperate at the shoulder after applying polish, then wax!

I like to apply sealants ..waxes and glazes by hand....I use the polish pal (Lake Country Manufacturing Pad & Handle Kit) from Danase...I use it to spot polish also...but for most polishing I use a PC or Hitachi...but the polishing pal is a great tool to have..you can apply very thin coats with it..and no hand fatigue also...

For me I find I use to much sealant with a PC...with a polish pal I use 1/2 ounce compared to 1 once with a PC...It may be just me .....waxes go good with a PC they do not get absorbed as much....

But this is the best money spent Lake Country Manufacturing Pad & Handle Kit...

Kidding aside the PC is great for polishing but I use a little 6" orbital waxer from wal-mart for applying wax, especially the first coat. Coverage seems way better with an oribital than by hand. Its a wash timewise if you are an autopian though, you still have to apply by hand to get into the hard to get places.

For times that require it I also use the Polishin Pal but also Malms Kolinsky Speed Waxer.

I has pads that fit its holder and also Cyclo's velcro cup fits it.

Heh heh, thanks for the memories, I remember when they first came out with that thing! Poor 'ol under-appreciated Malm's...

I finished my car a couple of weeks ago by hand. Did my wife's car this past weekend with the PC. Aside from applying the sealant, I'm never polishing by hand again.

Same here. All polishing, glaze by pc. I put the sealant/carnauba by hand. Allows me to also "feel" for any imperfections.
