How many MF towels per job?

The Rainmaker
I was reading a thread on another forum about the number of Towels used for various jobs. There was a large difference in the number used.
A couple of examples:
For me to do a complete detail.
1 large WW for drying after washing.
1 for the windows. Sometimes 2.
1 to remove polish residue. If I used two or three steps of polishing, I would use one MF for each step.
1 for removal of each sealant or wax.
For the unforeseen.
At least one extra to replace the one that you drop or get contaminated in some way.
I rarely use more than four.
Miscellaneous uses.
Clean the vehicle with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe - 2
Clean the vehicle with DP Rinseless Wash - 2
Use a QD - 1
Apply Dura Gloss Aqua Wax - 1
For the interior - 1 cotton terry towel, 2 if I treat the leather.
For tires -1 cotton terry towel
For wheels - 1 cotton terry towel

Another person's requirements.
Use a QD - 3
Wash and dry car - 8
Remove polish after using DA - 5
Full Detail, wash, dry, 3 steps of polishing and one application of LSP - 20

Obviously, there is some variance.
How many would be typical for some of you to use for the different jobs?

For the most part I usually use the same amount of towels on my "full details":

-1 WW for drying
-1 MF for claying
-2-3 MFs for polish removal (1 towel for each product, I usually use 2-3 different polishes)
-1 MF for LSP removal
-1-2 for glass...

For S&W, QD, OCW, etc, I usually use 1-2 per vehicle, depending on how wet / dirty they get.

When I use QEW, I use a sea sponge and dry with 1-2 WW towels.

~I wash all towels after 1 use~ (with exception for WWs, unless they were used for QEW)

I use a total af about a dozen towels or more.
1-3 for the jambs depending on how dirty.
2 for glass, one in and one out.
1 for wheels
1-5 on the inside depending on how dirty
1-3 on the exterior removing wax/polish
and 1 or 2 here and there for odds and ends.

Wipe the sweat from my fore head....lol

well, I just finished an interior for one client and an exterior for another client, so here is my answer
on an interior I use between 3 and 5 towel. I would use closer to five if I had to clean and condition the leather as well as the basics with All Purpose cleaner, excess dressing removal and doing a wipe down of the carpets after using the extractor.
for the outside, I use two towels per stage. so figure if I'm just doing a polish and a wax, that's 4. Then I would use one on the wheels. One to remove excess exterior dressing and then two more for a final clean up.
Finally, I would use two for the windows.
I think that's it. I may be missing a step, but I hope this gives you somewhat of an answer.
