It certainly looks like the posts you are referring to are leading up to the revelation of a "Miracle in a Bottle", (My words), product that was linked to earlier. The links were removed, but I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the promotion.
As far as people being influenced by some of the information, I doubt that washing a vehicle with dish soap and a brush is going to come across as very good advice.

I guess I missed that one.
Household products for auto care don't interest me a great deal.
The one exception I can think of is/was the Woolite and water mix for cleaning leather. I used it at the 6:1 dilution ratio for several years with no problem, but I now use a dedicated leather cleaner. I also have noticed that the Woolite & water recommended dilution now seems to be 8:1.

I find it entertaining as heck! You can only read about problems and look at great detail pictures for so long. It adds a bit of fun to the mix!
 
I just want to make one thing clear here. Mr. Tuckermatic is not being ridiculed on here because of any ignorance on his part. He is not here to learn or share, he is here to promote and ridicule us for our "out-dated" methods.

The reason for the uprising against him is because of his arrogance and blatant attempt at promoting a product which leaves little doubt that he stands to gain from it.
