A friend of mine asked me to detail his car, but he is going to repaint a side of it. The car is almost new, so he will have a clearcoat on the side that he will repaint.

If we have a clearcoat, how long must I wait until polishing (detailing) his car?

I cant remember off the top of my head but i think its around 12 weeks or so. Might be less might be more.

Lots of info on this if you do a basic search here. Short version, anywhere from 1 to 3 months. I'd wait at least 2.
