How Long to Detail and other questions...

So I've read a lot of posts here with people writing that they washed and applied four coats of Zaino on their car as well as doing the interior etc.

Now here's the thing... when I detail my car it takes me AT LEAST six hours to do it from start to finish.

I wash, vacuum, Zaino Z2Pro, z6 another Z2Pro, finish with Z8, then use Poorboy's Trim Restorer on all the exterior trim, and engine bay.

Use Meguirs NXT on my wheels and Zaino tire dressing on my tires. Use 303 on the interior.

After all of that I'm beat... destroyed... time for a shower and a beer.

I'm just wondering... how in the heck do you guys get through four coats of Zaino in a day?

Also I think I may be using too much Zaino... I don't know... I have enough for two coats in one of their bottles filled half-full. Should I be getting more coats from this?

As it is, it's quite hard for me to tell sometimes where I have applied the wax already.

Anyway... any insight would be helpful :)

Once you get a routine down it wont take you long. As far as how much wax your using, I would say if your worried about it try and use less next time...

if you think you are using too much, you are using too much. Its been a while since I've used zaino, however, from what i remember the bottles are 2oz, so if you are using 1oz for 2 coats, I would say you are easily using twice as much as should be necessary if my memory serves me.

I know that there are a lot of detailer that do a detail faster than you mentioned. I am not one of them. It takes me six hours to do a detail and I do not do interiors. I think that you are doing a good job to do all that you have mentioned in the time that you stated.

In regards to the Zaino. I get the same results as you. I am doing a full size truck including tonneau cover so you can take it from there. Others say that is to much. Thinner is better. I am satisfied with my application techniques. I also am satisfied with the results.

The one thing that I question is the four coats in one day. According to the Zaino website one should only apply three coats of zfx'd Zaino products in one day to get optimum results. If you are satisfied with your results I see no reason to stop what you are doing. For me...I apply product according to the prescribed methodology.

I spend however long i can detailing my car. Usually i stop at night when i cant take the little bugs biting me anymore. If i am not satisfied i continue the next day.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

As for getting it down... I've been detailing my own cars for years now. I just recently started using Zaino (about six months ago) but I don't think I'm slower because of that. Maybe I am... but it's always taken me about that long to detail my car no matter what I use... maybe I'm just slow :)

Anyway, I'm happy with the results I get... just thought I'd see if I could get them any faster ;)
