How long do you let your car warm up

I personally let it run about 10 to 15 seconds before driving off, but until the negine comes up to normal operating temperature, I drive it very easy, especially so in colder temps, but even so in warmer temps as well.

Does anyone here know what they are doing? This quote sounds sensible.

Yes I am ASE certified, I no longer work as a mechanic but I still keep up to date and have enough go-fast toys that I know what I’m doing. :beer_smil

Its better for the car if you just start it up and then start driving taking it easy untill the temp gauge comes up to operating temp this is the best way because when you sit in the driveway or where ever you keep your car the only thing thats getting warmed up is the engine but if you start your car put it in gear and start to drive everything warms up together and it is a uniform heat and just a engine block I learned this when I worked for General Motors so it came from a reliable person . good luck ! :flowers:

My old Blazer ran horribly when it was cold, so I'd usually let it warm up for about 2-3 min. during the summer and 10-15 during the winter. My Saturn isn't too bad, I can usually warm it up for less than 5 minutes and be on my way
