From an experienced ("One" of a different variety) waterless wash user, I would say your pushing the envelope with using that type of product under those circumstances. In my understandings of what the products contain, as well as directives associated with the label, your MR2 had a little excessive amount of dirt, to justify using said product(s). I mean no disrespect, but its uses like this that (can) give these products a bad rap.....

Allbe the car looks great!, but would you have done the same, on a high end car with very little spiderwebbing?

Your application may have been appropriate if you know youll be detailing in the near future, and are just desiring a cleaned vehicle.....We're all guilty of taking shortcuts knowing we will take care of the larger picture in short time.

I think a presoaking with a NR type (NRWS/QEW), then skeepskin/bucket could have been deemed more appropriable, just behind a traditional soap and bucket....Just my $.02

Yeah, cant wait to get the one from FMINUS and try it out. I still have a minor place for waterless washes as much of my undercarriage and frame is visible b/c my truck is lifted so it takes some water to clean it, but ONE should help out with the paint part of it anyway.

i realized i was being harsh and pretty much a ***** far before you posted, and apologized to zoran via pm, i truly wasnt trying to criticize just want answers about the product. I rarely disturb the herd irl or ol.

Once again her Sequoia is gonna be a guinea pig for testing. The paint is freshly corrected and LSP'd, so here's the plan:



I'm gonna wash it using my PW, foam cannon, BHB and water filters. Then I'm going to take pictures of every body panel under the halogens to show how defect free they are.Then I'm gonna let the beast go for a couple weeks (or until it is unbearably dirty). Far dirtier than most of us would ever let our cars get. I figure if I'm gonna test the stuff, it might as well be under the worst conditions possible. If it works, great, we'll know you can feel good about cleaning very dirty cars with it. If it doesn't, I'll keep working at it to find the safe threshold for dirty cars... anyway, once the truck is good and dirty, I'll do a full ONE cleaning of it, then put the car back under the halogens for "after" pictures and look for any marring.



Who knows, if it passes this test, I may even use it on my car (but probably not)



Ya know, I've noticed that Accumulator hasn't chimed in on any of these rinseless/waterless wash discussions. I'd love to know what his opinion/experience with these products has been *hint hint*.

Patrick, I definitely understand what you are saying. I think I should for the benefit of everybody that might be reading this say that my post should not be taken as anything but a one person's attempt to use certain product and post his opinion that is anything but expert's. I sometimes out of curiosity intentionally push the envelope and accept that I might end up paying the price for that. However, fact that I posted thread about me doing that should not be interpreted as a generalization and that it is OK to step outside recommended use. If you are doing it you are doing it at your own discretion and responsibility, if it fails it is not anybody's fault but your own.

Assuming I care about paint on my high end car, no, I would not do it. Not to mention that if I am well off enough to own a high end car I would not be reaching for products like ONE, I would just get somebody to do car for me. However, this is my beater, it has it's share of paint flaws, swirls are of the least concern to me, I don't have assistants, others don't run errands for me, if it is late night, I am in the parking structure and I need to meet people in few hours and can not do it in dirty car pre-soak, mitt and bucket is equally impossible for me as full wash is. Having some towels, sprayer and big ZipLock bag (to later put dirty towels in) with ONE (or One) behind the seats at all times is a solution for me. When first surface impressions count clean car will make all the difference, nobody beside Autopian will notice swirls.



With all this being said and done I am very curious to try your One.

Just got my sample of ONE today (THANKS, FMINUS!) and found it a little hard to use. Mainly because the sun was blaring at my hood and dried it up pretty fast. Tried it at sunset and got better results. No scratches and my car was just as dirty as the MR2. It did leave a nice glossy shine though. I normally use PB S&W and noticed a better finish with ONE.



Just confused as what to use now. Got CG WMF and CG JetSeal...but that's another thread.

DO NOT use ONE in the sun, it doesnt work at all!!!!!
