How do you deal with fabric wheel wells?

I do have to admit, though, it is pretty annoying with how these felt well liners hold basically every pine needle, dirt clump, etc that gets thrown up in there

My 2001 Focus had this material in the rear, and so does my '05. Since I try hard to keep things clean, usually a shot from the foamgun, followed by a blast from the hose works pretty well. If the weather has been bad (winter salt, etc.), then the wand at the DIY carwash helps a lot.

However, on neglected cars, who knows? You detailers out there see so much more ridiculous stuff than I do, that I don't know if I have a suggestion for that.

you know I washed a friends jetta today and noticed the inner wells and didnt know what the hell they were. After washing with soap, you rinse and soap just keeps coming out and coming out and coming out. I never saw it before. Pretty weird but I did notice they didnt look as dirty as other cars. The vehicle hadnt been washed since december and they didnt look too bad. Just some little leaves and such in there.

Here's some pics of the Adams Under Carriage Spray on a BMW 540i with the felt panels (or whatever that material is!) When using this spray, I found I had to spray some extra in order to coat the material to a uniform color.

I'll be doing a final power wash (now that it's going to be above freezing in KC) today to remove wax/glaze from body seams, etc. I'll also spray the wheel wells to see if the Adams product holds that color.

I do like the way it gives a uniform OEM appearance to the wheel wells and not a greasy or glossy look.

I usually just spray some APC and hose it off and it looks good, I think It's easier to keep nice than traditional plastic materials. And I have not noticed any leaves or stuff getting stuck there either, everything comes loose pretty easily. Have it on 2 Fords in the rear wells
