How do people do this for a living?

I guess Im a car guy and feel like a car wether a honda or new vette should look clean and presentable.

No kidding. Since I've gotten interested in this, driving around, it's surprising how many cars are absolutely filthy. Like, 60% of them haven't been washed in a year probably.

You guys with your own shops, if I were doing that, I'd try a big sign facing the road that says, "Would you let your house stay dirty for months and months??!" and just above that, it says "Henry's Car Cleaning" or something like that...

Because having a real job sucks. :lol

Scott you do have a real job if anything your job is much harder than a desk job which I have. Also detailing is anything but easy work which takes talent to do it correctly. My hat goes off to all professional detailers.

To a lot of people, a real job is sitting at a desk in a building all day. ;)

I am not the type of person who can sit all day pushing papers. Even when I was a restaurant manager, I hated the slow periods, liked when it was busy and we were constantly moving.

With detailing cars, I set the pace and the standards. I deal with one person at a time and see the results of my work quickly. I'd have a really hard time going back to a conventional job if the need were to arise.

Detailing for a living seems like a pretty hard job. imo

Especially if you have a couple of 8-10hr days doing all out details. 1 day's enough for me.. I can't imagine 5-6 days a week with only one person doing details that require full correction.

In my "little" experience holding a Flex, for a few hrs in front of me wasn't all that fun. :chuckle:

I know where I live, I couldn't make a living doing it.. Well not a good living at least. Hats off to the people that do.

I got into the Mortgage/banking industry, and "then" got out before the collapse. LOL
