How do I get shine like these?

Lighting? I thought my car with 20 coats of Zaino is shinny. After looking at these cars, I'm not so sure anymore.

Edit - OR Custom paint job??

I had the same thing on my mind too. I sent an e-mail to SAL himself and after some bumbling around and sketchiness he finally said that it was unlikely Zaino would give that shine. Oh well, the search continues!
 
notice how many points of light there are on the car, if you car was in that showroom, it would shine at all those points too. But depending on how well you did it, it would show how good you waxed it as well :)

Those cars also have the advantage of having chrome lined everything, which makes every car look sharper when waxed.

it's almost always about lighting, on my car, I use a less than 90 degree angle along with the morning sun reflecting off my house to give the advantage of more reflection

I would bet that the paint job on those cars cost as much as my daily driver.



Find the pic of the black Jetta that Detailking has posted on here. Put it under the same lights and I believe it would shine just as well.



It has Zaino on it.
 
The wax has to cure for a 24-72 hours before additional layers can be applied. Cure means that the wax must harden. If you apply 3 coats in one day, its basically one layer on the car. To achieve the best results its is recommended you apply the wax with a coat every few days.



The same goes for a polymer non cleaning sealant. You must wait a few days inbetween coats so the polymer can cure/cross link.



Two products are an exception to this, blackfire and zaino. These two sealants can be layered because tehy have an instant cure time, but they both are limited to three coats a day.



Now, this is for the best results, I have applied 3-4 coats of a polymer sealant (Klasse SG) in one day wiht no adverse affects, the results were very good. I even put two light coats of wax on top of the SG (two light coats to ensure complete coverage.)



As for the car, it has to be the lighting, and maybe the paint job.

My guess is that those cars arent waxed. Either quick detailed with a silicone base, or polished with a greasy glaze like 3M IHG.
 
For some show cars they build extra film of clear and then wet sand it down to a perfectly smooth glass like finish. It's only done on show cars as that type of finish would not last long on a daily driver.
 
Many others have also tried applying a few coats of Klasse in one day. You do get good results. However, it is probably a better idea to just wait at least 24 hours. Laters

If you drive the car. If it stays in the garage, then you can apply the 2nd coat without washing.
 
Isn't it in the paint? Don't show cars have multiple clear coats that are wet sanded between coats so the surface is close to perfect, nothing like a prodiction car? Given that type of surface wouldn't a lot of products give a great shine? Face it no amount of wax, polymer, etc. is going to yield the kind of result in the picture is you are starting with a stock/ production paint job. Yes - no ?

[/b]</blockquote>James - That's basically what my thought on the subject was, but I don't have any experience with show car preparation so take it for what it's worth ($0.02).

When traded in my Mustang I had 4 or 5 layers of Mequiar's Gold Class on it. I thought it was pretty good looking. When I went back to the dealership a couple days later to get my plates I saw that they had it on the show room floor. :) It looked so good there. Like it was meant to be displayed like that. Anyway, it shined like those cars in the picture. It is all a matter of lighting. that car never looked as good in my garage.
