WaxAddict- yeah, I usually use small paintbrush/BBQ-style BHBs, with the regular shampoo mix if really dirty or just IUDJ if not, for those areas. The long bristles get into tight spots and I get less marring than with other approaches.
One upside of BIG panel gaps is that it`s easy enough to flush mine "from the outside" with doors/etc. closed. But I still have to rinse better than that anyhow and I have a few suggestions (sorry, some are dependent on stuff that most people don`t use/have, but anyhow..) :
-rinse BHB and use it wet with rinse water
-use a "bend to flow" hose nozzle
-use a foamgun set to "rinse"
-use Tornador (especially good with IUDJ mix in it)
The QDs you`re using just aren`t the right stuff IMO...same reason why you wouldn`t use that approach on the hood applies in the jambs and sometimes doorjambs can have really nasty stuff in them that`ll mar something awful.
One place I still use a MF towel is...?!?oh gee, how to describe this one?!?...open front door- area inside the front gap, which includes the trailing surface of the front fender and the front portion of the doorjamb in front of the door`s leading edge (did that make sense?). I use a shampoo mix or IUDJ, and if the shampoo I flush with the bend-to-flow most of the time. (And just FWIW, yeah....I figure out ways to polish/LSP in there too

)
