How can shine be measured?

I've heard of gloss meters never used one though, where are you located ohiorivercigarette I boat downtown cincy everyone In a while mostly in cumberland though I have a 26 foot powerquest, let's see a pc of the boat

I can't find Daves but I did find John Kleven http://www.autopia.org/forum/machin...s-same-pads-same-compounds-gloss-testing.html

He is pretty convinced that rotary polishing really does produce a higher gloss factor, when measured with the meter.

Cheers,
GREG

I had a curiousity that rotary produced higher gloss factor back then, when i 1st got my DA and tried to get the feel on how to use DA properly on my car's hood that i've already rotary buffed to perfection the very previous week. At that time i thought that the LSP hasn't stripped completely, so i take the rotary out to polish the other section of the hood once again. And still the rotary side is a bit glossier than the DA side and i blamed that on my lack of DA feel (1st time use). I dropped that curiousity since i didn't see any differences on my dd car from using rotary or DA and i thought that the paint itself is a variable. After working on couple of my friends car, i found that sometimes rotary do produce better gloss than DA, given the paint is workable, but not always and usually takes a good look on the panel or side by side comparison is needed to spot it.

Too funny!

Runner-Up for 3rd position since the 1st one is consisting so many cars and might need to be disqualified or measured again with the right shine-fun-o-meter :D
1931 Bentley Saloon: Full sand, buff, and detail

David :iagree: with you and also about the  thing. But every writeups that i've read here are
