How can I get a SHARP shine on black?

Ken,

Nice looking SL, I love the R129's. Did you update the front lights, they look like HID's.

Stick with the recommendations already made and you should get the results you're looking for.

You may also want to try Klasse if it's available where you are. I know my MB dealer sells both AIO and SG as well as the complete Meguiars MB specific detailing products. Post some pics after tying the new products.:xyxthumbs

- Afshin,

Yes, it's a stunner. I had the earlier shape SL for a number of years and the difference in everything is nite&day.

The lights and clear indicators were on when I bought it. At something like US$5000 equiv the pair, I doubt I would have gone to the trouble.

Already stocked up on #26 and rarin' to go! Pics tba. I'll keep looking for Klasse too, as it seems to hold a prominent position on this forum.

Thanks, saw that post a month or two back, but taking note of your detail sequence again! Did you say your Maxima was gray? Looks light maroon to me. Nice color though.

Funnily enough, I think I might know the ex-owner of that place! Not from my years of motorcycling, but a current friend of my daughters. I'll have to check it out. Small world.

Lab Sample D sounds interesting. I'll check it out, thanks.

Inzane-foam hand pads do not have enough *ooomph* with swirl removers. You also may need something stronger initially, like DACP, to remove the swirls.

I've found using folded terry cloth towels to work far better than foam applicators in correcting paint defects.

Beautiful car!

Thanks! I use Meguiar's Endurance high gloss on the tires which I feel gives an extra zip to the black. I know a few people have reservations about glossy tires, but this doesn't seem to cheapen the look at all to me.

I personally do not like Gold Class wax. It's hard to buff and it's not a layering wax. It's a cleaner wax and even layering wax as Steve said is debatable. But, If I were to layer a wax, I would choose Souveran paste or S100 paste. Here's what I would do........

Zaino shampoo

Clay, Clay Magic brand, the blue bar

Zaino shampoo

S100 SEC or Pinnacle Paintwork Cleasning lotion

S100, 1 coat

Pinnacle Souveran paste wax, 3 coats, 24 hours between each coat.

I would use the PC for the S100 SEC/Pinnacle, then everything else by hand.

Or

You can go the Zaino route but that's a long process and you may or may not like the Synthetic mirrorish look of Zaino.

Good luck

Hi Ken Silver !

P21s Gloss enhancer and P21s wax is the best for black. S100 and P21s is the same thing.

Aust Distributor is AG group Aust ( so they say) Try [email protected] I have bought both products and a P21s complete kit from there.

Its the best on black !!!!

Thanks for the link, k2dan.

I've still got some Meguiar's products to test, and will maybe look at P21S after.

Steve, I edited my post and yes, I was "off base" with that statement. Meg's makes good products but I just personally do not like their Gold Class wax.

There ya go, I deleted my post as well ;)
